MLP-MSP 3 has a new home!

After we were suddenly uprooted last week we searched high and low for a venue that would offer our guests everything MLP-MSP 3 is going to offer this year.

MLP-MSP is excited to announce we have secured our new venue for 2016! We will be at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis!

So we have a new venue, but how will that affect the convention here on out? We look at it as an upgrade. First and foremost, we will be held the same dates: June 10-12. We made sure to keep our dates the same for all of you with booked flights and scheduled days off work.

Second, the venue has lots more space which will allow us new programming opportunities including small break-out panels, game rooms, and larger main and side stages! We are also now in the right neighborhood for the first ever MLP-MSP Pub Crawl!

The Hyatt sits on the south end of Minneapolis’ Nicollet Mall, a downtown pedestrian shopping district with restaurants, bars, and shops of all kinds. Our new venue is within easy walking distance of the light rail which runs to both the Mall of America and MSP Airport.

The hotel was recently renovated and we have secured the same room night rate of $119 for double-queen rooms. We will post a link and event code in the next day or two.

Vendors: our new vendor hall will give you the same amount of space on its own dedicated floor! We’ll email details to you soon.

Now that our venue has been secured we’ll be announcing new programming, VIP events and more over the coming weeks. But why not an announcement now?

We’re proud to announce that Marÿke Hendrikse, voice of Gilda, Sonata and Black Lagoon’s Revvy will join us this year!

We want to thank everyone for their patience and their faith in our event. In the past week of transition we have not received a single refund request. Moreover, your kind words helped and heartened our crew. Thank you Minnesota!

We’ll be announcing more guests and more details soon. Again, from all of the MLP-MSP 3 crew, thank you.

Marÿke’s acting career spans well over two decades; she has performed in film, television, radio, commercials, video games, theatre, and animation. She has acted in theatres throughout Canada and the U.S., her credits run from big musicals like ‘Phantom of the Opera’, ‘A Little Night Music’ and ‘Aspects of Love’, to original indie plays, and most everything in between.

Marÿke has lent her voice to many hundreds of radio plays, commercials, and animated series, and considers voice acting her specialty. Favourite voiceover credits include ‘Moville Mysteries’, ‘Freaky Stories’, ‘Blaster’s Universe’, ‘Braceface’, ‘Maryoku Yummy’, ‘Bratz’, ‘A Mermaid’s Tale 1 & 2’, ‘The Girl Who Leapt Through Time’, ‘Dinosaur Train’, ‘Slugterra’, ‘Kate and Mim Mim’, ‘Black Lagoon’, ‘Johnny Test’, and of course ‘My Little Pony Friendship is Magic’ and ‘Equestria Girls- Rainbow Rocks’, playing Gilda the Griffon and Sonata Dusk respectively.

Marÿke is grateful to be able to say hello to MLP fans at these all-awesome conventions, and to thank them for their support in watching the work she loves so much.
